Dr. Thilanga Sumathipala has previously served as a Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka and in several Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial roles within the Sri Lankan Government. Dr. Sumathipala is the current Chairman of Sumathi Ventures and has held Chairmanships in various high-profile institutions, such as Sri Lanka Telecom, Mobitel and the Asian Cricket 5 ASIA CAPITAL STOCK BROKERS Counsel and has also served as the President of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

Dr. Sumathipala hold degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration and Management from universities in the U.S.A., China and Sri Lanka.
